Thermometer & Hygrometer Calibration
NIST-traceable calibration of thermohygrometers, temperature probes, fixed temperature gauges, and fridge, freezer, and room thermometers, with a Certificate of Calibration for every device.
Your HACCP plan, storage logs, and cook records are only as good as the instruments behind them. We calibrate each thermometer and humidity meter against NIST-traceable reference standards and give you a Certificate of Calibration showing exactly how accurate it is.
What we calibrate
- Thermohygrometers (temperature and humidity meters), such as the ones in dry storage and warehouses
- Removable temperature probes, such as handheld and cook probes
- Fixed temperature gauges on kettles, ovens, cookers, and other equipment, calibrated in place
- Fridge, freezer, and room thermometers
How it works
- Thermohygrometers are checked at two humidity points, ambient and about 75 %RH, in a sealed salt-solution chamber. Temperature is checked at each point.
- Removable probes are checked at the ice point (0 °C / 32 °F) and at your operating temperature, such as your cook temperature.
- Fixed gauges are checked in place, at the equipment's operating temperature.
- Fridge, freezer, and room thermometers are checked in place, with the reference beside the device.
Every reading is compared with our reference standard and the error is recorded. Each point also gets a pass or fail against the manufacturer's tolerance or your own, so the certificate covers verification too.
Calibration doesn't mean adjustment
A calibration is the comparison against a traceable reference and the documented error. It doesn't require adjusting your device. If a device is out of tolerance and can be adjusted, we adjust it and check it again, and the certificate shows both the as-found and as-left readings. If it can't be brought back into tolerance, the certificate says so, and we let you know right away so you can tag it out of service.
What you get
- A Certificate of Calibration for each device with its serial number, location, test points, error, pass/fail results, and measurement uncertainty
- NIST-traceable reference standards, calibrated by an accredited laboratory
- A QR code on each certificate that anyone can scan to confirm it's genuine
- Online access to every certificate in your customer portal
Pricing
| Device | First device | Each additional, same visit |
|---|---|---|
| Thermohygrometer (2 points, RH + temp) | $195 | $60 |
| Temperature probe, removable (ice point + operating point) | $175 | $90 |
| Temperature gauge, fixed (in place, at operating temp) | $175 | $90 |
| Fridge, freezer, or room thermometer | $125 | $40 |
The first device of each kind is billed at the first-device price, and every other device of that kind on the same visit at the additional price. Instruments can be calibrated on the same visit as your metal detector, X-ray, and magnet validations.
