Metal Detector Validation
Independent metal detector validation for Utah food manufacturers, with certified ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel testing and an audit-ready report for every unit.
Your metal detector is a critical control, and auditors want proof that it works on the products you actually run. We test each detector the way an auditor expects and give you a clear, defensible report.
What's included
- Sensitivity testing with certified ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel test samples
- Testing in your real products, including the hardest-to-inspect ones, so product effect is accounted for
- Worst-case positioning, passing test samples through the center of the aperture
- Reject system checks at normal line speed, including reject timing and confirmation
- Fail-safe checks for alarms and belt stops where your system has them
- A full audit-ready report for each unit, ready for FDA, USDA, SQF, and BRCGS audits
When to validate
- At least once a year
- When a detector is installed or moved
- After major repairs, part replacements, or software updates
- When you add a new product, package type, or line speed
- When a customer or certification body requires it
Pricing
$650 for the first unit and $250 for each additional unit validated on the same visit. Annual service contracts save 5 to 20 percent. See pricing for details.
